12 Week Walking Program

As used by trial participants

As part of the trial participants had already worn a monitor for 7 days so their baseline targets were set.

 

For use by adults and older adults wanting to increase their walking

If you use these materials you will need to monitor your step-count/walking for about 7 days before you start the 12-week walking programme. Trial participants used the Yamax Digiwalker pedometer to measure their steps. You can buy your own pedometer (other reliable brands are fine to use) or you can use the step counter on your smart phone, if you have one. If you prefer not to measure your steps, you can time yourself walking briskly instead.
